Essential Question: How can weather affect us?
Story: The Big Blizzard
We will finish our book in the next two weeks! Chapter 16: combining all 5 patterns.
We will begin our unit on Lines and Angles. There will be homework almost nightly. Please check planners. I apologize if your student has homework over the weekend as I strive to not have weekend homework, but sometimes I spend a few minutes longer on instruction and we don't get enough time to finish in class.
This will be a fast moving unit. I will not post homework on here because I can't always know where we will end for the day. I also feel it's important to have the students work on writing this informaion in the planners.
Check out the new math website: http://aspenviewacademy.org/site/academics/curriculum/math
Please practice math facts nightly. It will help your student gain the confidence needed to grow as a mathematician. There is no form to fill out for this, please just try for 10 minutes a night. I know there are a lot of different games/apps out there to help with this. Please do whatever works best for your family.
Parents, please note that your child now has important log-in information for Singapore Math in Focus Online Resources stapled into the front of his/her planner (a bright pink paper). You are welcome to access these tools anytime from home. We think they will prove useful throughout the year.
Essential Question: Who were the colonists?
We will discuss the colony of Georgia, the pilgrams coming to America and the colony of Plymouth.
*stay tuned for upcoming history project information*
This is a fun unit but if your child chooses to do additional studies at home, please be sure you are monitoring their searches. The internet may provide results that may not be appropriate for this age group.
