Students will be learning about 3 poems this week. We will be doing activities to deepen our understanding of these poems as we read and discuss each one. We will also be doing some Thanksgiving activities! :)
Essential Quesiton: Does every problem have a solution?
We are continuing our next unit in math, which focuses on Numeric and Algebraic Expressions. This week students will be learning how to use the Order of Operations (PEMDAS).
Essential Question: In what ways do you see growth and change in the world?
We are continuing our next unit in science: Plants! This week students will be researching and compiling a plant brochure about a specific plant of his/her choice. Students will have 3 full days of class to research and put together his/her brochure. It will be due this Wednesday, November 15th.
Students will be studying Plant Vocabulary terms in sets of nine throughout this unit.

Grammar Essential Question: How does my individual job affect other jobs?
We are continuing our narrative unit this week. Students will be writing his/her own narrative that includes characters, setting, a problem, theme, and a plot that is fluent. We want each student to remember how to show the story rather than tell the story as well as focusing on how use descriptive language to show thoughts and feelings.
In Grammar, we are finishing chapter 5 which introduces conjunctions.
