Singapore Math

Chapter 18: Subtraction Stories- Students will learn the difference between addition and subtraction symbols, use numbers to write subtraction sentences, and practice subtraction fluency facts up to 5.

Science

This month we will be learning about landforms. Our topics will include, what types of landforms there in the world and how they were and are created. Students will be exposed to vocabulary words like mountain, hill, valley, canyon, plateau, island and ocean.

History and Geography

Taking Care of Earth: We will learn that the resources of Earth are limited: they must be conserved and protected from pollution if they are to last. Students will learn that we can conserve resources by practicing the 3 R’s. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

George Washington Carver: Students will learn about the life and scientific achievements of George Washington Carver. Carver’s interest and skill in working with plants helped him become a world-renowned researcher and inventor.

Monthly Saying:

“April showers bring May flowers.”
