It’s hard to believe we’re wrapping up the school year! As we look back over the past nine months, we’re filled with gratitude and joy reflecting on the many wonderful memories we’ve shared. Our strong, supportive community of students and families is what makes AVA such a special place.
At the heart of all the fun, learning, and enrichment this year is a truly special group — YOU!
The PTO exists to support our AVA community: our amazing students, dedicated teachers, and hardworking staff. And none of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers. Whether you scooped popcorn at movie night, donated a gift card for the soirée, organized shirts for the used uniform sale, hung lights for the glow party, built a balloon arch, cheered with pom-poms at Boosterthon, or gave any amount of your time — THANK YOU. You’ve made a real, lasting impact.
This year, the PTO saw several multi-year projects come to life, including:
- Securing a CRPD vehicle to ensure we can maintain a full-time SRO, in line with Colorado law.
- Completing funding and planning for a sunshade on the playground, with installation set for this summer.
- Raising the remaining funds for a rock climbing wall, and beginning to save for a greenhouse to provide hands-on learning for years to come.
- Stocking the book vending machine with 1,200 books for students to enjoy throughout the year.
- Awarding nearly $13,000 in classroom grants to support teacher-led projects and experiences.
- Provided $27,000 to fund field trips & staff appreciation events
We’re already looking forward to the 2025–2026 school year! We’ll kick things off on July 24th at 9:00 AM, meeting on the playground under our new sunshade. The PTO will provide games and popsicles for the kids—and attending will count toward your volunteer hours for the upcoming year.
