AVA is on a 90-MINUTE DELAY on Thursday, February 23, due to forecasted temperatures. Many parts of Douglas County are included in a Winter Chill Advisory with wind chills as low as 20 below zero. Temperatures that low are not safe for our students who are walking to school or our staff who are outside helping with carlines. A delay will allow more time for temperatures to rise to safer levels.
This means school will start at 9:30 am for Middle School students; 9:45 a.m. for Elementary School students. Carpool on a delayed start day begins at 9:15 a.m. and before school care will open at 8:00 a.m. Please do not drop off your child earlier than 8:00 a.m. for before care, as no one will be here to supervise your child.
